This month was really fun! I had my birthday, and some family flew in to visit. Even though I am in summer school and it is pretty hard, I have been enjoying this month. It's probably because I love birthdays so much!
What I am drawn to this month includes things that are cool looking. The weather is VERY hot and I am looking at things that either cool me down, or are cool visually.
1. This dress caught my eye right away. Even though the color and pattern are bold, the dress still looks really airy, so it would be perfect for these hot summer days. In styling this dress, I probably wouldn't wear jewelry since it is such a statement piece already.
2. I find this mother of pearl necklace really interesting. If you haven't noticed already, I really like simple jewelry that a great design to it and this piece is no exception. I think this necklace would go with a lot of outfits too!
3. This tea towel is so cute! I am totally into the pom pom trim, and the mix of prints.
4. I don't wear hats that often, but I am trying to change that. This hat has the classic style and a slightly larger brim, both of which I really enjoy.
What are your favorites this month?

Evil Online Shopping
Okay, so online shopping isn't actually evil. But, I have had a lot of problems with it lately and decided to vent.
First, I ordered a package from Ulta. This store is kinda far from my place and I knew exactly what I wanted so ordering it seemed hassle-free. Somehow, my shipping zip code got completely messed up, and I didn't realize it until it had already shipped. I know this is completely my fault, but it was super annoying. And the fact that the zip code was not even close to mine just made it worse.
Then I ordered a package from Forever 21. After a reasonable time, the tracking website said delivered when it had not been. After calling the post office they told me the same thing. I became worried that someone had stolen the package right away and I never noticed it. But thankfully, before I had my phone call meeting with the post office about the missing package, it was delivered. Yay!
My last online shopping problem occurred with Chegg, the school book rental website. I had trail access to the online version of the book, so I rented the real book through Chegg and wasn't worried about it not getting to me fast enough, so I ordered the cheapest shipping. With 2 days left on my trial and still no book, I decided to contact Chegg about the book. Turns out, my order was lost in their system, so I reordered with first class shipping. Then a few days later, with no trial and still no book, I contacted them again. They lost the order AGAIN! I was extremely frustrated. Especially because I need the book! After ordering it for the third time, it arrived last night.
After all the trouble I have had with my packages, and the many times on the telephone with the post office, I have learned that I would rather not order stuff online.
I also learned that you can just say "customer service" about 15 times into the telephone to go straight to a real person instead of the automated postal service message. That computer will try to tell you to pick from the choices mentioned, but don't listen. It doesn't want to help you.
And with dealing with Chegg, their wait time for the phone is incredibly long. Instead, tweet them, and they will get to you (even on the weekends) within a few minutes. Seriously, I am never calling them again.
Do you have issues with online shopping too?

What I Wore Today
This is a new shirt of mine and I really love wearing it! It is super versatile, so it's hard not to wear it with every outfit. This is one of my favorite combinations with it so far. The light color of the blue goes really nicely with the happy yellow. I decided to go bold and wear a bright red lipstick because the colors were muted.
Top: JCPenny
Skirt: American Apparel
Lipstick: Revlon Color Stay in Finale

Jerome
My aunt and grandma visited this past weekend. It was really nice to see them and we did lots of fun stuff around town. The bad thing was that it reached 108 degrees and we did a lot of walking outside. It was uncomfortable for me, so I felt bad for them!
On Sunday we drove up to Jerome. For those who haven't heard of it, it is an old mining town that have been around since the 1800s. The town has burned down 3 times, and the jail has even slid right off the mountain!
Here a just a few pictures I took, I loved looking at the old buildings and wondering about the history surrounding them.

Birthday!
Yesterday was my birthday! I really had a nice time, and the day was filled with unexpected surprises.
I woke up to birthday balloons and twix candy bars tied to streamers! Then my in-laws treated me to a Dutch Bros coffee. Later on my mom told me she was taking me out to dinner at my favorite restaurant, but when I got there, some of my family and friends where there too!
I was so happy to share my birthday with my close friends and family, and all of the surprises were really touching. I wasn't expecting to have such a great birthday!

Step Two
Step one of the Air Force plan was Joel leaving for basic training. And after two weeks, I finally heard from him. He wrote me a letter telling me a bit what he is doing, and he also mentioned how he got stuck on the bathroom cleaning duties with 7 other guys. They have to clean the huge bathrooms with only windex and cloths. How awful!
I also received the forms to get my military id, which is step two of the process. I went to Luke AFB yesterday to get it and it took me two hours. I drove for a total of 4 hours yesterday and sat for the majority of the other hours in the day. By the time my evening class rolled around, I was insanely restless!
I am glad I didn't try to get my id on a weekend! Plus, I was able to use it already to get a small discount on booking a hotel for Joel's graduation. It is the second week of July!

Hannah's Adventures
On Saturday, my cat Hannah had her own adventure. In the mornings, I let them out on the patio so they can enjoy looking at the people and birds on the canal. We even built them a little ledge so they can lay on it (shown below) and usually there are no problems.
About half an hour into it, I heard a weird meow from the cats. I then see Henry standing in the door looking terrified and his tail is puffed up. At first I didn't realize what happened, but when I couldn't find Hannah, I knew she had fallen off the balcony. Maybe she jumped on the railing to see the birds better and then slipped off?
We live on the second story, so I was really worried that my little cat could be hurt. Also, it is a very noisy place since we are right next to a major road, so that would make her even more freaked out and possibly run away. I walked around the area, looking in any bushes that she might be hiding in, but I couldn't find her. I went a second time calling her name and shaking a bag of treats, but I still couldn't find her. I was really worried now.
Just as I went back into my apartment, the neighbor below came back from walking her dog. I heard a lot of barking and new that the dog had found Hannah! I rushed down the stairs, and found her inside the neighbor's patio hiding behind a pillar.
I gave her too many treats and poked her a lot to see if she was injured anywhere. She is completely fine, and went to jumping around and playing with Henry right away. I'm so glad she is ok!
Now that both Henry and Hannah had have their little scare, I hope this means that things like that won't happen anymore!
